Tech tips: How to set up your Netflix household account, step-by-step guide

For several months now, Netflix has been taking measures to prevent password sharing. According to the company, this is meant to safeguard its intellectual property and ensure each subscriber has their own account. The initiative began in Canada, New Zealand, Portugal, and Spain and is now being introduced in other countries in stages.

Recently, Netflix announced new guidelines for users in India. Users must now indicate their "primary location" for their account. This is to help Netflix identify if an account is being shared among multiple households. Additionally, Netflix is launching an "Access and Devices Management" page, allowing account holders to view who has access to their account and remove unauthorized users. The company is also sending emails to account holders who are suspected of sharing their passwords, requesting account verification or risking account suspension. Netflix is now blocking access to accounts used in multiple households. Netflix emphasizes that sharing an account is only intended for those who live in the same Household and that individuals outside the Household should sign up for their own account to access Netflix.
